Someone had once remarked – It would be hard for the coming generations to believe that there once lived a saint, in flesh and blood, who won freedom for his country by sheer non-violence.
This saint was none other than the ‘Father of the Nation’ – Mahatma Gandhi, whose Principles of Truth, Non-violence and Satyagraha swept the world.
To commemorate the national festival of Gandhi Jayanti, an assembly was organised by middle wing.
The main objective of the assembly was to inculcate Gandhian values and to sow seeds of humanity among the students. The assembly began with a beautiful thought and news. Students also highlighted the life events of Gandhiji and Lal Bahadur Shastri
Gandhiji believed in social equality and always stressed on leading a simple yet noble life. A poem depicting Gandhiji’s values ‘See No Evil, Hear No Evil and Speak No Evil’ and symbolic Charkha focused on ideologies and ethics was also presented.
To gave an insight on how Gandhiji led the nation towards the freedom struggle and realised the dreams of Indians for free India, for which he happily sacrificed his life a musical skit was performed by our Young Davians.
As a tribute to Great Leaders who were the pioneer of truth and non-violence, the assembly culminated with the “Raghupati pati Raghav rajaram patit pawan sitaram” followed by a quiz on Gandhiji and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
